Banksy Craze Seemingly Unstoppable

The graffiti guru Banksy still has most people in spin.  In early 2010, two business men bought a wall containing graffiti believed to be that of Banksy - yet Banksy refused to claim it was his work.  What makes that rather interesting is the fact these two men spent £30,000 for that wall.  That's the level of Banksy fever that's hit those who see his creations as currency.

Banksy is rather shrewd in that he simply wants his ideas and art to get full publicity while he stays out of the spotlight.  Is there any other artist who has truly wished to remain so anonymous? And this is all part of the appeal of Banksy.

His anonymity feeds the myth, and the myth feeds publicity. And as Banksy's artworks are considered valuable currency, they can immediately raise the value of a brick wall to hundreds of thousands of pounds.
