Fin Fahey has added a photo to the pool: A curiously inscribed wall, just to the north of All Hallows church. The initials are frequently dated, often very carefully, as with GB's 24/8/14. Also on this bit, 1908, 1916, 1927, 1965 - and I think that's a 90 up there (not 1990, I'm bound). The latest date I could see, elsewhere, is in the 1970s. Perhaps the tradition stopped then.
